TYNGSBORO — Tyngsboro High School has announced its Students of the Month for March.
Trevor Drew, son of Cara and Rob Drew, is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and has served as the secretary. He is also a two-year member of the student council. Trevor is a two-time recipient of the Commitment Learning Award and a three-time recipient of the Principal’s Award. Trevor has had a great career in athletics during his years at Tyngsboro High School. He is a four-year member of the golf and basketball teams and a two-year member of the baseball team. In golf, Trevor is a four-time Mid-Wach league all-star, three-time team MVP, two-time league MVP, the team all-scholastic, and was the team captain during his junior and senior years. In addition, in basketball, Trevor was a captain during his junior and senior years and also received all-scholastic honors. Trevor also has over 100 hours of community service, including coaching recreational basketball, helping with the football team, and volunteering at town events such as The Big Red Wrestling Tournament and town cleanup. His hobbies include snowboarding, working out and going to the gym, and nutrition. Trevor’s favorite subjects are writing, business, and finance. His future plans include playing collegiate golf at a high level and pursuing a dream of playing professional golf on the PGA Tour.
Colin Riley, son of Michelle and Timothy Riley, is a two-year member of the National Honor Society where he served as the junior vice president and then as the president during his senior year. He has received the Core Values award, and the Assumption University Book award, and is a three-year recipient of the Principal’s award. Colin is a member of the Multicultural Club, BioBuilder’s Club, and Student Council. He has had a great career in athletics during his time at Tyngsboro High School as a member of varsity cross country and track teams from eighth grade through senior year. In cross country, Colin was captain during his junior and senior years, a three-time league all-star, and a two-time MIAA Division 3B Medalist. He was a two-year recipient of the Most Improved Player award and has received both the Coaches award and the Team MVP award. Colin has volunteered to do trail work with TrailWrights, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to preserving trails in the White Mountains. He has also volunteered at town events such as the Tyngsboro Block Party and numerous others with NHS. His hobbies include running, hiking, skiing, and mountain biking and his favorite subjects are math and science. Colin’s future goals include attending college and studying mechanical or biomedical engineering, and one day qualifying to run the Boston Marathon.
Paige Matthews, daughter of Amy Kinney and Brad Matthews, has received the Academic Excellence award, the Outstanding Achievement in Business award, and the Principal’s award. Paige has been a three-year member of the varsity cheerleading team and a two-year member of the varsity swim & dive team. In athletics, Paige has received the Academic award, Most Improved Athlete award, MVP award, and Athletic Achievement award. Her hobbies include hanging out with friends and her future goals include attending college with a major in business finance and eventually studying abroad.
Katelyn DiPersio, daughter of Kerry and Jay DiPersio, is a two-year recipient of the Principal’s Award. Katelyn has had a great athletic career during her years at Tyngsboro High School. She is a four-year member of the varsity cheer team, including two years as captain. She received the Coaches award, Athletic All-Star award, and MVP award. She was a member of the varsity gymnastics team her sophomore year and a two-year member of the varsity swim & dive team where she was named captain her senior year. Katelyn also volunteers at the Merrimack Valley food bank. Her hobbies include sleeping, listening to music, and doing puzzles. Her favorite subjects are math and science and her future plans include graduating from college with a degree in marketing or meteorology.
