Tyngsboro High’s May Students of the Month

TYNGSBORO — Tyngsboro High School has announced its Students of the Month for May.

Emmanuel Akwaboah, son of Oliver and Gloria Akwaboah, is a recipient of the Core Values Award. Emmanuel was a three-year member of the varsity football team as well as a two-year member of the basketball team. His hobbies include playing piano, drums, and guitar. He also enjoys playing basketball with friends. Emmanuel’s favorite subjects are computer science, world history, and anatomy. He plans on attending UMass Dartmouth to study business management.

Ava Cesar, daughter of Jennifer Cesar & Nuno Cesar, received the Core Values Award during her junior year. She was an active member of the Medical Professionals club for three years as well as the Yearbook Club her senior year. Ava’s hobbies include reading, camping, and cooking; her favorite subjects are math and anatomy. Her future goals are to finish college and become a nurse anesthetist.

Sarah Maltby, daughter of Michele and Michael Maltby, was an active member of the chess and ski clubs. She was also a three-year soccer team member, with two years on varsity. Sarah also participated in community service such as the Tyngsboro Block Party. Her hobbies include hanging out with friends, going shopping, and skiing. Sarah’s favorite subject is math and she plans to attend the University of New Hampshire and obtain a degree in finance.

Julia Simmons, daughter of Mandy Perrin and Mike Simmons, was a three-year member of the field hockey team and a four-year member of the varsity softball team. She also received the second-team all-star award for field hockey. Julia has been involved in community service such as volunteering for the Tyngsboro recreation softball program. Her hobbies include hanging out with friends and going to the beach; her favorite subject is anatomy. Julia’s future goals are to travel, obtain a degree from the University of New Hampshire, and eventually become a speech and language pathologist.
